Ray Halden started with one truck and a ladder rack in 2004. The company still runs from the same yard on Tanner Road, and every roof still gets a job number, a named foreman and a folder of photos you can keep.

How we got to the way we work now
Nothing on this list came from a business plan. Each one was a fix for a problem a homeowner told us about.

One truck, one ladder rack
Ray Halden starts the company from the yard on Tanner Road. The first roof is a 1962 ranch three doors down.
- 2009
A second crew, and the first slate
Colm Brennan joins and restores a slate roof in Ashford Old Town. Slate and heritage work becomes its own crew.
- 2012
Photos on every inspection
Every report now comes with labelled photos. Luis Ortega joins and takes over storm claims.
- 2015
The per-sheet deck price
Rotten deck goes on every quote at a fixed price per sheet, photographed before it is replaced. Dee Marsh joins Crew 3.
- 2017
The daily build log
Hannah Halden joins the office. Every build day ends with a text and photos for the homeowner.

A 25-year warranty
The workmanship warranty goes to 25 years, in writing, and transfers once if the house is sold.

Ray Halden · Founder · still does inspections

Started the company with one truck and a ladder rack. Ray still walks two or three roofs a week and signs off every inspection report that leaves the office.
Dee Marsh
Foreman · Crew 3 · since 2015
Eleven years with Halden and the foreman on most of the Millbrook re-roofs. Dee writes the daily build log texts and does the final walkthrough with every homeowner.
Colm Brennan
Foreman · slate and heritage crew · since 2009
Runs the four-person crew that handles slate, clay and cedar. Most of the Ashford Old Town restorations have been his, including the Mill Row cottage.
Luis Ortega
Storm and insurance claims lead · since 2012
Documents storm damage, writes the claim photo reports and meets adjusters on site. After the June hail he walked 140 roofs in Kestrel Heights in three weeks.
Hannah Halden
Office and scheduling · since 2017
Ray's daughter, and the person who answers most calls. Hannah books inspections, sends every written quote and chases the materials so deliveries land the day before a build.

Trucks leave at 06:45. Materials for the next day's jobs are checked against the written scope before they are loaded, so what arrives at your house is what you were quoted. The office is at the front, and you are welcome to come and look at samples.

Close enough to be back the same day if a tarp needs checking. We go further for slate and heritage work, so call if you are just outside the valley.

Twenty-five years, and what that actually means
Two warranties come with every new roof: ours, for how it was installed, and the manufacturer's, for the materials. Both are listed on your sign-off document.
